One Month at HubPages with Panda: Compare Your Stats and Earnings with Mine
76
I actually started with HubPages in July 2008. But after writing three articles and seeing neither hits nor income, I got discouraged and left.
I returned with another article on May 20, 2011, and finished my last article in this tally on June 22. So that’s a little over a month for these stats. (Stats outside this period are excluded.) Because my return happened after Google Panda happened, there’s no way to compare current and previous stats.

I have an eBay account but have been unable to access it because I don’t remember my password. I’ve tried their Forgot Password feature several times and have never gotten an email. I’ve also tried contacting them on their form, which is never working. If anyone knows how to get around this, let me know.
Hubs
My articles cover the following groups so far: health, jobs, languages, model railroading, tech and travel. It’s too early to tell yet which hub gets the most views per day, which I get by dividing their total views by the number of days they’ve been around.
My average writing consists of three hubs a day, with as many as four and as little as one per day. I’m hoping to bump that up to five a day or more since my head is swimming with many topics.
I do not know which of my hubs is responsible for earning me what amount, which is frustrating. To see my actual articles, click my Profile Name.
My total earnings for the month were $2.60, which is about six cents an article. That is not an exciting amount, although it’s money that wasn’t there before. That number should go up with more articles, which will continue to earn in the coming years.
Marketing
I publicize my hubs on Twitter, Digg and with a few relevant postings at related forums. Twitter has produced no visits, though Digg has brought in one person. Most outside viewers seem to come from the forum postings and Google searches. I must be the only person in the world who isn’t on Google but I’ll be signing up soon for marketing purposes. There’s certainly much more to do in terms of marketing, and that may be the biggest factor in increasing views and cash.
Your Thoughts
So, what do you think? How does this compare with your stats? I’m interested to see how others have been doing. Feel free to put your own stats in the Comments below.

First of all, thank you for the referral Alocsin.
You're certainly doing better than I regarding traffic and earnings. Granted, your hubs more than triple mine in number. Are the total pageviews just for the past month?
I wouldn't worry too much about which hubs are contributing to your HP ad program earnings, since you're basically being paid a sort of average amount based on the CPM and impressions.
As for the AdSense earnings, you can use URL channels to determine the exact contributions of each of your hubs. Directions are here: http://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.p
Good hub.I am currently disappointed with my hubpages. The earnings are ridiculously low.I am actually thinking of stopping hubpages once I reach 100 hubs. From then I will wait and see how the content is doing. What is panda by the way?
Hey Alocsin,
My stats are pretty similar. I think I have more comments per hub, as you have more than double myself, but then I have spent a lot of time chatting with fellow hubber - which helps a lot.
I also left for nearly six months, so been at this for about 8-9 weeks now. I'm not expecting money yet, as I have noticed that the first hubs (now floating around the 88-94 mark - they seem to change randomly) are starting to get external traffic. It seems that although backlinks help, the age and a mark over 75 is what affects external traffic .... what do you think?
I'm going to keep this going for fun, but an extra income would be very nice too!
My impression is that the amount of work on hubpages for the return is paltry. To spend this amount of time here should definitely be for other reasons. I have mine. This site is part content farm and part social network, so I'm sure it is worthwhile to a lot of people. What I've enjoyed the most out of it is the learning experience, and I have also made new friends which is cool. Thanks Aurelio for the good info on here.
I knew nothing about this Panda thing until recently. My numbers have actually increased since it occurred, but that may be do more to my increased activity then anything from Google searches, which account for a very small amount of my traffic anyway.
thank you for coming out in the open and share this article...actually my first two months was nil because i was banned from publishing any hubs for clicking my own address...so silly of me...lol...anyway, i didn't have the idea then...i was only allowed after two months...the wait was so frustrating that i had to publish my written works on blogger but to my dismay published write ups would not be allowed to be published on Hubpages so i need to revise my previous works...sigh...thankfully i survive, i gain friends/followers and come to know you...
I think you're doing great in your writings. My stats vary depending on the topics I write and I have reached Adsense payout only after writing about 30 hubs in a span of several months. So, you're doing much better writing about 30 hubs in a month. So how are you doing after over 6 months of writing again in HubPages.
Thanks for sharing.
Chin up alocsin,
It’s a difficult game to learn and then master, I am still learning but bloody adamant this year I will be crowned master LOL.
These set backs although frustrating because I personally know, can give us time to reflect on what it is that we are doing wrong, for me when starting I had become almost robotic in my determination to win over the SEO and Google, I had lost touch with the organic side to being an online writer, I mean just concentrated on the traffic and never really settled down and respected the sites I had been posting.
Thank God I had began to learn from those mistakes and now started to play the game, I now find that I prefer to be posting and contributing at Digg.com but I have had to orientate myself to do so, I think now I am going to settle there and Hubpages too and just work on those relationships plus Youtube also.
I think personally it’s a frustrating time when we have to try and absorb all this information at once and it can be very daunting when we hit a brick wall at the end of it.
Find our friends and communities online and allow ourselves to grow organically with the experiences that we have now obtained from Hubpages and working with other sites, be patient and wise but always go where you are enjoying yourselves the most, then the process will evolve quicker and be more enlightening.
These are signs of a graduation in progress so chin up and soldier on because we are all behind you and share every moment with you, think positive and be victorious!
I know you are doing great alocsin :)
Yep, another useful hub and I feel better (for everyone!) that you can reveal certain statistics about the Google AdSense program.

First of all, thank you for including a link to my Panda Update hub. Much appreciated.
Second, since you are asking for our thoughts, here are some comments on some items...
? Not getting a reply from eBay for forgotten password... (1) check your spam folder. (2) if you changed you address you'll never get it.
? Not knowing how much you earn from each hub...this is in your Google Analytics reports if you use it.
? Followers...you get them by being active in the Forums.
? Earnings... that comes mostly from search engine traffic. This builds over time with useful and unique content. It took me a year to get my first check from Google.
From the way you presented this hub I can say you are doing fine (I voted up and useful). Since you just started over again, be patient and keep working at it.
